European Museum Technology

Gerhard Mayer holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanics with a fitter and turner trade background and he has been working in the museum industry for more than 12 years. His technical engineering knowledge with the practical hands on experience has proven to be of advantage in a highly competitive showcase manufacturing industry. His local experience in Australia with the museum industry, architects, designers and contractors is well established.

Early involvement with showcases started in 1997 with the Manfred Frank showcase systems. After five years working with the Australian museum world, Gerhard moved to Europe to set up the Manfred Frank system in Germany whilst remaining involved with Meyvaert Glass Engineering (MGE), Gent. It was evident that MGE was the ultimate partner for Gerhard to continue his work.

Now back in Melbourne, Gerhard has established EMT's own manufacturing facilities utilising local manufacturers, contractors and suppliers in Braeside.
